Several people have asked about how our daughter Lisa is doing and if she has
gotten her heart. She is hanging in there and still on the list and living at home. She has a Caring Bridge
page that she updates often. Please feel free to visit it through the link below
and if you do PLEASE say Hi on her Guestbook page. It gives her great joy to hear from people and to realize even people that
she doesn't know care and wish her well.
THANKS!! Barb & Lee
UPDATE!
MAY 27, 2011
LISA HAS BEEN PUT ON THE HEART
TRANSPLANT LIST!!!!
FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO KNOW US, AS WELL AS THOSE WHO DON'T, OUR AMAZING &
ONLY 2 LEGGED CHILD LISA, IS CURRENTLY IN THE PROCESS OF TRYING TO QUALIFY TO BE PLACED ON THE HEART TRANSPLANT LIST. SHE
IS AN INCREDIBLE FIGHTER & HAS BEEN FIGHTING TO LIVE SINCE HER 1ST & ONLY CHILD (OUR GRANDDAUGHTER ADELAIDE) WAS BORN
3 1/2 YEARS AGO & HER HEALTH ISSUES BECAME KNOWN. WE ARE TRYING TO PUT OUR LIVES IN ORDER SO THAT WE WILL BE AVAILABLE
TO HELP HER THROUGH THIS DIFFICULT JOURNEY. WE ARE NOT RETIRING FROM BREEDING BUT ARE PLACING THAT PART OF OUR LIFE ON THE
"BACK BURNER" FOR NOW. WE WILL MOST LIKELY HAVE A FEW PUPPIES IN THE NEAR FUTURE BUT NOT AS MANY AVAILABLE AS WE HAVE HAD
IN THE PAST. WE NEED TO BE READY TO DO WHATEVER WE NEED TO ON 2 HOURS NOTICE. WE REALLY APPRECIATE ANY PRAYERS &
POSITIVE THOUGHTS, SHE WILL NEED ALL THE HELP SHE CAN GET.
WE HAVE FOUND WONDERFUL HOMES FOR THE GIRLS WE WERE RETIRING TO LIGHTEN
OUR RESPONSIBITIES AT HOME. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR INTEREST IN THEM.
WE ARE NOT RETIRING!!! JUST TAKING SOME NEEDED TIME
TO CONCENTRATE ON LISA.
********************************************************************************************
Every once in a while we have an adult available. There are different reasons but generally it's a Mom who is being retired
for one reason or another. All of our dogs are family members who live in our house full time. They are trained to use washable
potty pads and are "family" dogs, not kennel dogs. It's not easy for us to let our adult dogs leave, but we believe
they deserve to have time in a loving home that can provide them more individual attention and give them an opportunity to
be "the only one" or at least only one of 2 or 3. We are proud of our dogs and love them VERY much.
Our Yorkies are our passion. If you've ever had a Yorkshire Terrier you know what I mean.
"YOU CAN'T HAVE JUST ONE!!"
That's what happened to us!
Our jobs allow us to work out of our home, so we are able to be with our 4-legged kids a lot. We've found that being home
most of the time with the puppies is great for puppy pad training as well as socialization.
